We are taking a natural product in its prime and allowing it to express itself to its maximum potential through winemaking. These wines are handcrafted with zero manipulation to allow the wine to express a true representation of what Washington State has to offer.

Sustainability - Vineyards & Wineries

Vineyards: With over 300 days of sunshine, lean soils, dry climate, freezing winters, and the precision and availability of water, eastern Washington is naturally the most sustainable wine grape growing region in the world!  Our climate and varying soils allow us to spray less pesticides and herbicides than other growing regions around the world because of lower precipitation (less than 6"/Rain Shadow Effect) and freezing winters which keep pest pressures low.  The diurnal shift gives us long hot days and much cooler nights with up to a 50*F shift, allowing fruit to phenolically ripen and retaining its natural acidity while sugar accumulation stabilizes.  Large water reservoirs in the Cascade Mountains supply eastern Washington with an abundance of natural water through our canal system.  Along with the added water supply from the great Columbia River, we have full control over our drip-line irrigation practices for our vineyards each year.  Because of our incredible growing region and climate, we are one of only a couple regions that still have own-rooted vinifera vines, giving you the truest representation of vinifera grapes in the world!

Wineries: We aim to be one of the most sustainable wineries in the world by utilizing and recycling all water and waste produced from our facilities.  We process and hold all our wastewater, settle it, and spread it along our vineyard roads for dust abatement.  All pomace from our white juice grapes are taken to a local feedlot to feed the cows which we then use the cow manure for our compost regimen.  All fermented pomace is collected and hauled to our compost area where we then rotate the pomace/manure/soil mixture for two years until it is ready to be used as fertilizer for our vineyards.  Creating a completely sustainable and regenerative circle from our vineyards to our wineries!
